Your Portrait Experience

Whether this is your first time being photographed or you’ve been in front of the camera before, your session with me is designed to be a pause—a meaningful moment just for you. It’s a chance to slow down, breathe, and truly be seen and celebrated for who you are, right now.

Before Your Session

From our very first conversation, I’m here to listen and understand your vision, your goals, and any questions or concerns you might have. I want to make sure you feel excited and prepared.

If you’d like, I offer a simple dry haircut before the session to refresh your look — no fuss, just a subtle update to help you feel your best. On the day of the session, I can also assist with minimal styling to keep your look natural and effortless.

I’m happy to guide you on wardrobe choices, colors, and accessories to ensure everything feels authentic and comfortable.

During Your Session

This is not about stiff poses or forced smiles — it’s about capturing real, unguarded moments that reveal your quiet strength, softness, confidence, and authenticity.

We’ll move at a pace that feels natural and relaxed. I’ll gently guide you and create a safe space where you can breathe, laugh, and simply be yourself.

Working in black and white helps us focus on emotion and presence, stripping away distractions to reveal the depth and soul of each moment.

After Your Session

Once we finish shooting, we’ll sit down together to review and curate the images. I carefully select the photos that best capture your essence and emotions, presenting you with a thoughtfully curated gallery.

This is a special moment for you to see yourself in a new light — often discovering parts of yourself you didn’t expect.

You’ll choose your favorite portraits from this collection — timeless black and white images that become meaningful keepsakes, reflecting who you are now and the journey you’re on.

What to Expect

Throughout the entire experience, my goal is to make you feel empowered, nurtured, and truly celebrated. This is your time and space to connect with yourself, free from outside expectations.

I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way, making sure the process feels easy, personal, and deeply rewarding.

What to Bring

1. Simple, Timeless Wardrobe
Bring 2–3 outfits that reflect who you are and feel good on your body. For black and white portraits, solid colors translate as tones — think light, dark, and mid-tone contrast.
Neutrals (black, white, cream, gray), earthy tones, and natural textures (linen, wool, cotton) look especially beautiful. Avoid busy patterns, neon colors, or distracting logos — we want the focus to be on you.

2. Layers + Texture
Soft knits, tailored jackets, draped fabric, or a worn-in button-up — these add movement and mood. Don’t worry about “dressing up.” Bring pieces that feel like you, elevated just enough to make you feel special.

3. Minimal Accessories (If Any)
Delicate jewelry, your favorite ring, or a sentimental item can add a personal touch — but less is more. In black and white, shape and feeling matter more than sparkle or color.

4. Haircare (If Not Receiving a Cut)
If you’re not getting a dry haircut with me before the session, feel free to bring a brush, styling balm, or anything you like for last-minute touch-ups. I also offer light styling on set to help you feel polished yet natural.

5. Something Meaningful (Optional)
A letter, a book, a photograph, a scarf from someone you love — if something feels connected to your story or season of life, bring it. Sometimes the smallest, quietest objects hold the most emotion.

How to Prepare

1. Hydrate + Rest
Drink plenty of water, nourish your body, and try to get a good night’s rest before your session. These small things will help you feel grounded, present, and radiant — even without doing much else.

2. Skin & Makeup
Wear whatever makes you feel most you.
If that means no makeup — perfect. If it means a bit of foundation, powder to reduce shine, or a favorite lip color — that’s perfect too.

Black and white photography is about texture and tone, so subtle makeup (especially light contouring, soft brows, or defined eyes) can translate beautifully. I encourage a natural look, but you’re free to express yourself however you feel most confident.

3. Let Go of “Perfect”
You don’t need to know how to pose or show up a certain way. This is not about performance — it’s about presence. I’ll guide you with care so you feel comfortable, unhurried, and truly seen.

4. Give Yourself the Day
If you can, keep your schedule light. Let this be a soft space in your week — a chance to disconnect from pressure and reconnect with yourself. The session is quiet, thoughtful, and deeply personal. Let it be something you look forward to, not rush through.
